Although this in an unpopular opinion among the social media/mainstream masses, I had a great 2020. Let me explain. I was inconvenienced by masked, irritated with changing mandates, and frustrated with the constantly contradicting medical information. But y’all … God has blessed me in all areas of my life this year and I feel like it’s time I spoke up about it.

So here’s a list of (only) 20 things that have been blessings in my life this past year:

1. I retired after 25+ years in education.
2. I traveled with my husband several times and with our grown children for my 49th birthday.
3. I was healthy and continued to exercise 3-4 times per week, drank more water, and gave up a couple of bad eating habits.
4. I read through the Bible for the first time in my life, even though I’ve been a Christian since I was a young person.
5. I spent time with my Daddy: outside, walking, talking, and traveling.
6. I spent time with my bestie on the phone almost every single day. We walked together and talked for hours.
7. I completed a huge clean-out project I had been dreading for my mother. She’s a hoarder (that’s another several posts for later.)
8. Both of our grown/adult kids came home to live for a couple of months. It was great, really great.
9. I spent lots of hours outside by the fire pit sitting, reading, talking on the phone, and relaxing with my hubs.
10. I read 21 books and discovered new authors to add to my “to read” list.
11. We played games and cards and completed puzzles as a family.
12. Hubs and I took up two new hobbies: container gardening and beekeeping. It has been so fun and rewarding to learn together and work on our projects together.
13. Hubs and I cooked together more and discovered some new foods to add to our rotation.
14. Our family business grew exponentially. We didn’t understand what God was telling us to do about the business at the end of 2019, but we now know. (AMEN)
15. Zoom Sunday school/Bible Study/online church became a thing and I hope it stays around. We were able to attend even while traveling.
16. I setup a home office in front of our picture window. I’m able to watch the birds and see the container garden while I work.
17. I rediscovered my love for planning. I’ve missed it more than I realized. It is my creative outlet and I’m so glad it’s back in my life.
18. My beauty business grew 8x. I found my biz peeps and the support I needed to get it truly going in the right direction.
19. I made new friends through social media. It’s not all bad out here in cyber-land.
20. I laughed, I loved, I lived.
